Olin Design Build Fly

2021 - Present

Olin Design Build Fly has different subteams: structures, telemetry, electrical, and aerospace. To start my first semester I joined the aerospace subteam, as a member of that group I did calculations on the best way to design the RC aircraft to ensure maximum speed and lift while also decreasing the chances of stalling. One of our main focuses was airfoils and creating the perfect wing shape to be responsive, fast, and stable enough to support the plane's engines and its cargo. The go-to method for our subteam to approach advanced mathematical equations is to input data into AVL - which simulates the testing of aircraft. The Aero subteam plans to have all necessary equations done by the end of the semester, after which everyone will join different subteams and the team will reconvene when necessary, for the future I plan to join the structures subteam.
